This is great, Emily! Your hubby is so chill (as the kids say), and your fancy friends are, well, so fancy!! :-) And of course we already know that you're fabulous! Excited for this new venture!! Please come to Spotify, too, so I can take you all with me.
The walk down memory lane in this episode reminded me of a meeting I had with Chris at The Bean trying desperately to get ENDOW
Started in our diocese 😖
it was the most tedious process (not the meeting, but the diocesan approval) and then maybe SIX years later it was trickling through the parishes and I had six kids by then and couldn’t commit to facilitating 😂
Also now recalling Patti Griffin’s album Living with Ghosts 😍😍😍
When you had your Thursday night dinners, how did you plan to have enough food? Did you ask for RSVPs? I got the impression you had a rather relaxed, open door type hospitality.
Emily, this first episode is a blessing and I’m looking forward to many more! One last thing I would have loved to hear y’all speak into is how exactly do you give attention to your guests when you do have children running around and needing tending? I feel quite frazzled sometimes, especially if the kids don’t get along
Chris and I will sometimes switch back and forth, taking turns checking on the kids. Also, lots of time, there are other kids invited and honestly we mostly let them all run semi wild outside or in the basement and check in occasionally with them. Big kids might be put in charge too.And we welcome tattling. If all else fails, we put a movie in for them. We are pretty chill about kids and just expect a certain level of chaos and destruction. It’s probably that attitude, and our commitment to sharing the responsibilities of kid minding and hosting, that makes it possible.
And I’m listening to this podcast at 4am! Lol. Only bc I just had a baby. Not the norm over here-waking up early stresses me out! Great question about different people tho!
I still have 20 minutes left and I can’t tell you enough how much I’ve enjoyed your podcast and listening to your husband too! We needed to get the whole Chapman experience. Even though I’m just listening I feel as if I’m somehow right at the table with you all. How fun, thank you so much!
This was great! Thanks for inviting us to your conversation and encouraging us to go have our own conversations. Also I enjoy the Maisie Dobbs series so much! 😊

Well this is so exciting!
I CAN’T WAIT FOR MORE! 10/10
I’m so excited for this. And the intro music is 👌

I’m saving these to listen to during my walks. It’s like walking with friends. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that you are doing this. THANK YOU.
