Thank you! This needed to be said, and you said it so well. Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine.

Thank you. This is actually applicable to a lot of life, and I needed a lesson in littleness after a disastrous diaper change of my two year old this morning.

Thank you for this, Emily! It was especially helpful for me to be reminded that the Novus Ordo and the Extraordinary Form liturgy can co-exist. On a related note, I was wondering if you could share your perspective about this:

Lately I've fallen into the trap of viewing the Extraordinary Form liturgy as opposed to the Novus Ordo. But I think this has less to do with the liturgy itself and more to do with my experience of the people it attracts. It sounds shallow and judgmental, but I haven't encountered many people who prefer the old mass who don't ascribe to a black and white perspective on the world and moral application.

It leaves me with the sense that clinging to the older form of liturgy inherently engenders/reinforces a tendency towards the kind reductive, categorical thinking which leads to fear-based living.

Though encountering how you love the Extraordinary Form while expressing these nuanced, dynamic reflections and insights about the faith helps me rethink this perspective and want to be more nuanced about it myself, I find it difficult when the majority of my experiences leave me with the impression I described above.

Would you be willing to share your thoughts about how I can address my judgmental attitude?
