Our children have grown up in a neighborhood like you describe in Steubenville, with dozens and dozens of school and church families within a mile radius (and cousins and grandparents too) and our parish and school two blocks away. In the summers, we don’t see them unless our house is the chosen one for the day. Every morning I wake up feeling we have won life’s lottery. There is no amount of money you could give me to move to a newer, bigger house outside of this neighborhood. You are right about problems existing everywhere, but gosh, they feel so much more endurable with a close community. I will pray this happens for all of you. (Lincoln, NE btw 😉)
We are so happy for you! Loved reading about your "whys" and your discernment. Praying for you guys!
Congratulations, Emily! Prayers continue throughout this process.
The Visitation House?!?! Wow. I have been reading your cookbook in the evenings this week and love your comfort with hospitality. The Visitation. WOW!
Thank you for sharing about this, especially the practical tips for discernment!

So happy to have you (back!)
Emily, you are a virtual spiritual soul mate…. Brid in Ireland!
