For several reasons. First, it increases chances of fraud. Second, it artificially truncates the election season. If something major happens in the weeks and days leading up to the election that could affect the outcome, a person can’t change their mind. The vote has been cast. Each candidate is supposed to have until the first Tuesday in November to make their case. I think we should give it to them.
