Emily I had no idea you came to Door County every year! It looks on the 'gram like you had the best time. It really is becoming so much more bougie...when I was a kid it was a lot more "down home" so sometimes it makes me sad. I'm glad families can still enjoy it so much. If you ever want that Wisconsin feel without spending a bajillion dollars, Minocqua and the rest of the Northwoods have some great supper clubs/beaches/mini golf too. :)
It is so much more bougie, but since I live in one of the least bougie cities in the country, I don’t completely hate that. It makes a nice break from abandoned storefronts and dollar stores. 🤣 As long as kids can keep running wild in breweries and they still have cheap go cart rides, I am okay with it. But the rental prices are becoming a problem. And they are tearing all the cute cabins down for mansions. That I don’t like. We will have to investigate further afield some year!
Hi! I am a long time reader, first time commenter as I can’t resist saying I also love Door County. Been there twice in the fall (stayed between Baileys Harbor and Jacksonport) for a long vacation and was completely charmed by it, I think it’s one of the most beautiful areas I’ve visited! I feel like it’s something only people that have been there can understand, it’s hard to describe what it’s like there to others, there is an unworldliness and untouched quality to the scenery and life there, or at least there was 13 years ago! I enjoy watching your beautiful family grow and appreciate your reflections on our faith and how you share your story, so thanks for that! Also, how long is the discount code at Beata Home prints good for? What an awesome resource!
Hi Claire! Door County is as gorgeous as ever, and so is the countryside there. Just a lot more nice restaurants and breweries now! And I am so glad you found Beata through us. Their stuff is just gorgeous! The code is active at least through the end of July. I will check and see if it goes longer.
