Oh thank you for sharing this! I remember reading the chapter when I was either a senior in college or right out of college. It was helpful then and it's helpful now as a married woman dealing with infertility ❤
Thank you, Emily! As a married woman struggling with infertility, I'm always struck by how my cross can have so much overlap with the cross of singleness. Thank you for the encouragement for those of us who find ourselves on either difficult path. 🤍
So much gold in this excerpt from your book. Even as an old, married woman much leaps off the page. What struck me the most is how we have the graces for now - maybe that’s obvious, but I needed to hear it. No wonder when I worry about the future or “catastrophize” I fall apart.
As always your words are like poetry. You have allowed yourself to be a conduit of God’s love. Not only is this piece lovely in its phrasing; it is such a beautiful picture of you. I can hear God speaking yet it’s Emily’s voice. Thank you for letting God use your gift of words to give hope and advice from the depths of prayer and experience!🩷
PS Happy feast of Sts. Cyril and Methodius! (The church’s chosen saints of the day😉)

Should add...I was single when I first read it

Isn’t it beautiful that God would use a writing on singleness to bring hope to the heart of the woman at the well. And that would be me.
