You all are the most beautiful, wonderful, generous humans on the entire world wide web. Yesterday, I asked you to help my friends running Hilltop Montessori School outfit their classrooms for the school year, and you responded in the most amazing way. All day, items kept flying off their wishlist and donations came pouring in. Many of those donations were less than $5. Most weren’t much bigger. But every gift, big and small, added up, and by noon today, you raised more than $25,000 in cash and materials for Hilltop, more than doubling our initial goal of $10,000!!!!
Truly, I cannot thank you enough. Tom and Noelle cannot thank you enough either. We are all so profoundly grateful and just in awe. Also, if any one ever tries to tell you that small gifts don’t make a difference, please just remember this fundraiser and all the beautiful generous souls who gave sacrificially out of their poverty and how God just multiplied that tenfold. Every little bit truly does help!
As for the the extra funds raised, some will enable Tom and Noelle to purchase all the remaining items on their wish list, along with a few more they never thought it would be possible to fund this year.T he rest will then go towards unfunded tuition assistance for low-income students.
If you still want to contribute, you absolutely can. Lord knows, they could use the help. But either way, please say some prayers for them and the students as we all get ready for the next school year. And know that Chris and I, along with the Hilltop staff will absolutely be praying for you.
May God bless you, bless you, bless you for your generosity!
Emily
P.S. The apology is because I had really hoped to get a substantive newsletter out today, but between a sick Becket, a deadline for Word on Fire, and the amazing response to yesterday’s fundraiser, there were not enough hours in the day. I will get one to you soon, though
P.P.S. Here’s a picture of Tom joyfully picking up the 49 (!) packages that arrived for them today at the UPS store. There were too many to fit in the car! What a wonderful problem to have. Again, thank you!
!
This community is amazing! Thank you for your witness, Emily! When I read your request yesterday morning, I just smiled to myself, knowing this community would rally and provide for Hillltop! So glad their wishlist came true!
I’m so glad to hear this!
