On Obedience and Freedom

I’m not a good follower. I don’t like being told what to do or when to do it. I sniff out incompetence from 10 miles away and don’t bear fools well. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve learned to fight those tendencies—to bite my tongue, take instruction, and cooperate. But I still work best on my own and prefer to do my own thing.
