Loved your reflection on James Baldwin Emily. So wise, compassionate and clear thinking!
Also, wondering what weights do you choose for the vest? I’ve lost 50lbs, am over the moon but needing to concentrate more on my fitness now and am considering a vest also!
Thank you so, so much for answering that James Baldwin question! At the Catholic high school I used to teach at, parents contacted the administration to get one of his novels removed from a list Juniors could choose from to write an American novel research paper. While I understood, I was also so frustrated and disappointed, and you voiced the balance of the value of reading different voices and keeping nuance of different moral backgrounds in mind so well. (I also am a proud Life-Giving Wounds alum and am so happy to hear you shout them out as well!!)
Yessss!!! Congrats on passing your inspection! ❤️❤️❤️
And I second LGW! I have been involved in the ministry since 2018 in various roles/capacities. It has been incredibly transformative for me and my own healing. For those of you looking for healing related to the wounds from your parents’ divorce/separation, this is an amazing place to start. Or, feel free to reach out to me! Praying for you all!
Congratulations on passing the lead inspection! I am thrilled for you knowing how much you’ve been through to get there.
I find the weighted vest trend so amusing. I still have to wear my enormous 25 lb. 9-month old sometimes, and I’m tempted to think that perhaps the weighted vest crowd should just do a swap with people who are tired of carrying very heavy babies 🙂
I'm actually quite preoccupied with wondering exactly what percentage of white women bought weighted vests on prime day. I. WANT. TO. KNOW. No shade, good for you! I live outside of Boston and literally 8 out of 10 middle aged white women out walking where I live is wearing a vest.

They recommend starting with 6-8 pounds, and then working up.

I would trade my weighted vest for another baby in a heartbeat!

🤣🤣🤣 Instagram tells me this is so, but I think my neighbors think I am wearing a poorly fitting bulletproof vest.
Well, it IS Steubenville! (I’m an alum, so I can say that.)
