A Celebration For Us And A Gift For You
Today is a big day in the Chapman household. Later this morning, my husband Chris will turn in final grades for his students. Then, all that’s left for him to do at school is clean out his classroom and turn in his keys. After that, he’ll come home and start figuring out with me what our new life, working together, looks like.
We are celebrating together tomorrow night with something that is a rare treat around here: a date night. Today, though, I’d like to celebrate with you by offering you a special gift: 25 percent off a year’s subscription to this newsletter. You can claim your gift anytime before next Monday, June 16.
Next month, will mark my fourth year writing on Substack, and I am so, so grateful for the work I have been able to do here. It has given me the chance to push back against the sound bite, click bait, social media-driven culture which has come to dominate online discourse, and instead engage in deeper conversations with you about questions of faith, family, and life.
As I have written here before, truth is not relative, but life and people are complicated, and the path to holiness for each of us is both more winding and more surprising than any Instagram reel can convey. Continuing to mature as a Christian (and helping others mature as Christians) depends on us recognizing that. It also depends on us developing both a deep sense of compassion and a healthy sense of humility in the process.
That’s why every week I work hard to offer you thoughtful, deliberative, mature reflections that are deeply rooted in Scripture and Tradition, but that also acknowledge the complexity of life. I want to think deeply and compassionately with you about the culture in which we live, the Church in which we worship, and the God whom we adore, so that we can continue to grow together in true Christian maturity.
I believe the conversations we have here matter, and I don’t want you to miss any of them. I hope you take advantage of this gift, and upgrade your subscription today.
As a full subscriber, you’ll have access to:
Subscriber-only essays, which offer in-depth reflections on Church teaching, the culture, and the life of faith;
Full subscriber-only chats, online events, and book studies;

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day to read my words. I pray that Jesus is somehow using these newsletters to lead you closer to Him.
Blessings,
Emily
